A medium-roasted coffee blend delivers an excellent and versatile flavour experience.
This exceptional coffee works equally well across either black or milk-based coffee beverages.
We love how it's perfectly suitable for various brewing styles, including espresso, plunger, drip, and percolator.
Our customers keep ranking Mocha as one of their favourites. It flies out the door daily, and we love roasting it fresh each morning.
A History of Mocha
Mocha is a blend dating back to the early origins of coffee.
Original Mocha Java (or Mocha as it is generally known) styles were created by blending beans from particular regions and then roasting them in a specific manner to achieve delicious chocolate notes.
At that time, coffee was only found (or available) in Africa and the Dutch East Indies trading routes when ships sailed near Indonesia.
Early roasters discovered that low-acid, thick-bodied coffees from Sumatran worked well when mixed with higher-acid, sweeter Ethiopian coffee.
Those early blending styles produced a classic, timeless blend coffee drinkers loved for the rich, creamy, smooth, sweet, lingering finish.
Modern Mocha
Today's style of Mocha Java coffee blends is quite different.
Mocha has been well and indeed hijacked by cafe operators attempting to differentiate drink menu choices by adding chocolate sauce/syrup/powder to a shot of espresso coffee.
While every coffee brand will have its individual take on a Mocha coffee blend, for mycuppa, our Mocha has been an essential product since 2008.
Over time, we have refined and evolved the Mocha blend to suit the demands of contemporary coffee drinkers in Australia.
We are pleased to offer an easy-to-drink, clean, sweet and highly-flavoured coffee that delivers a delicious, syrupy richness.
A coffee blend performs exceptionally well in any brew application and continues to be easy for customers.

Why our coffees are different
Our custom SUPA-ROASTA is a one-of-a-kind, fully cast-iron platform using the most advanced computer controls for ultra-precise roasting of the best-tasting coffees.
These days, complete cast-iron roasting systems are extremely rare. Only cast-iron platforms can impart that highly desirable soft, moist heat into the coffee beans.
Would the best chefs and BBQ experts cook their culinary delights on Stainless, Alloy or Mild Steel or Air ?
Nope, neither would we.
mycuppa's SUPA-ROASTA creates coffees with smooth, rich, high-flavoured tastes, full and syrupy body, fine acidity and of course our trademark long, sweet finish.
Nothing compares.
how we roast your coffee
Roasting coffee is a precise science. These days, computer profiles perform most of the automated tasks for controlling a roast profile. However, through better quality control via tasting, testing and optimization, we can make a big difference to the finished product through setting special parameters.

Ground coffee is poor value
Whole beans are the only way to enjoy freshly roasted coffee.
The moment coffee beans are ground, most of the essential, active compounds in ground coffee oxidize rapidly, losing vitality, aroma, flavour and body.
Ground coffee barely lasts 15 minutes; even sealed packs lose more than 80% of the critical essence in 2 weeks.
Unfortunately, once you open and close that pack, it's game over, and the ground coffee continues to stale at 20x the rate of whole beans inside of a sealed, unopened pack.
If you love coffee, please don't waste money buying pre-ground packs; you only get a small part of the wonderful coffee experience.
Buy a decent grinder and purchase whole beans; it makes a huge difference in aroma, flavour, and enjoyment.
